The highlight of the weekend was getting to take Noah swimming for the first time. When women dream about having babies, they typically dream about doing something with them. Going on walks... going to soccer games... watching them in their school plays. Me? I always dreamed about taking my children swimming. So, as you can imagine, introducing N to my love for the water was pretty exciting! :-) Our first try at the "pool" was a little blow up pool Lolly got for the backyard... a perfect introduction to "swimming"! Luckily, he enjoyed it as much as a 6 1/2 month old can. He splashed, he squirmed, and he squeeled.
The next day we decided to step it up a notch (OK, maybe about a thousand notches) and ventured down to the lake. Although the boys were NOT fans of the lifejackets, they had plenty of fun once they were in their floats and in the water. Again, lots of splashing! I was a tad nervous knowing that I could only see about three feet below the surface and this was N's first true swimming experience... but he didn't seem to have a care in the world.
We also went to the community pool several times. I enjoyed the pool much better because my stomach wasn't in knots the entire time, and Noah again seemed to enjoy it. Noah is SUCH a curious little guy, and in the water it was no different. He really enjoyed watching the waterfall and letting his hands feel the pressure of the water falling down. We did a little lounging around in between all the swimming.... All in all, it was a great weekend!
